Same-Sex Marriage banned in Maine--- Nov. 4, 2009

2009.11.04
Morning of Nov. 4th, Anna Stressenger reflects on the election results.

Pride March NYC, summer 2008

Today is a major loss for the LGBTQ community. AGAIN we have been denied equality.

If you vote against equal rights for all, how do you feel right now? Proud to be an "American"? If being "American" means denying citizens equal status and standing as yourselves so that you can feel special, then you can keep that label.

I don't want it.

In this photo: Anna Stressenger, 21-- From Maine, attending Muhlenberg College in Allentown PA. Vice President of the school's Gay-Straight Alliance. She's extremely disappointed in Maine's election results on same-sex marriage.

She wears black to mourn the loss of the LGBTQ community.
