Nancy, I was posed and ready with camera in hand, waiting for one of the owls to take flight out of the trees. I momentarily turned away to look at the road behind me and when I looked back up at the tree an owl was already landing on another tree. Agh. I snapped several shots and the black indistinguishable blob appeared to be said owl.

Yeah, I don't get what's up with nature like that. Those owls should have cooperated with you.
